Visegrad Debate Academy

From 18th to 24th of August 2019, Slovak Debate Association will host the Visegrad Debate Academy. The Academy will be a week-long international educational event for high school students. Experienced international trainers will deliver debating workshops for beginners as well as advanced debaters. Hopefully this Academy will help debaters from our region improve their skills and the 2019 installments will be the first of many.

The International Debate Academy is designed for high school students who have at least basic experience in debating (at least 0,5 – 1 year of debating).

The attendance fee is 160€ (if someone could not afford this fee, there is a possibility of reducing the amount). The amount includes accommodation and food throughout the duration of the Academy. If you are interested in participating, you can send your application through this LINK. The number of places for each country is limited. The first round of registration is open until the end of March. If there are still free spots, the second round of registration will be open until the end of April.

We will soon post information on schedule, staff, registration and fees. In the meantime, if you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact event organizer Ivana Ivanová at ivanova@sda.sk.

visegrad_fund_logo_blue_800px-1The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the Fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.

Thanks to the Fund we can offer significantly reduced fees to studets from Czechia, Georgia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine.

The Academy also would not be possible without our partner NGOs: the Czech Debate Association, Georgia’s Future Academy, New Vision (Ukraine), The Polish Debate Foundation.
